L&#8217;application la plus importante du para-xyl\u00e8ne est dans la production d&#8217;acide isophtalique. Le para-xyl\u00e8ne affecte le cerveau et peut provoquer des \u00e9tourdissements.<\/p>\n<p>Le para repr\u00e9sente la position des deux paquets de m\u00e9thyle l&#8217;un sur l&#8217;autre sur le cycle benz\u00e9nique. D&#8217;autres isom\u00e8res du xyl\u00e8ne comprennent le o-xyl\u00e8ne et le m-xyl\u00e8ne. Le para-xyl\u00e8ne est largement utilis\u00e9 dans la production d&#8217;acide t\u00e9r\u00e9phtalique pour le polyester.
